                              PREPARATORY PROGRAMME FOR THIRD-LEVEL 

This one-year, full-time course prepares participants for entry into a range of third-level programmes in UL, LIT, MIC and IT Tralee in Sept 2012. 

The programme offers a FETAC Level 5 qualification and is approved for the Back to Education Allowance.  

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible to apply you must be entitled to, or be a dependant of persons entitled to, one of the following:

·         A medical card

·         An unemployment payment

·         A means-tested welfare payment

·         A Family Income Supplement Payment

Priority for places on the programme will go to those who have less than upper second level education (i.e. less than 5 Ds in the Leaving Certificate, or equivalent).

Applicants must be 18 years of age as of 1^st January 2011.

The programme fee is €350. Applicants who do not meet the above criteria may be considered for a place on the programme,

however this is subject to availability of places and a higher programme fee will be charged.

Closing date for applications: Extended to Wednesday 31^st August 2011
